SGX to deepen ties with local startups
Singapore
THE Singapore Exchange (SGX) on Friday pledged its commitment to champion and be more active in the local startup ecosystem, with chief executive officer Magnus Bocker announcing that SGX is "finally" embracing a startup perspective and will progressively unveil a slew of financing initiatives this year to support early-stage companies.
Mr Bocker was speaking at the "New Year's Toast to the Next Frontier" event co-hosted by SGX and venture capital firm Golden Gate Ventures (GGV), in what is believed to be the first entrepreneurship-related effort led by SGX to educate private investors and improve their investing appetite for startups.
