WHAT would you do if you walked into a gallery or museum and the exhibits are not static paintings or sculptures, but people dancing around you? Stay and watch or be totally freaked out?

French choreographer Xavier Le Roy challenges the viewer's notion of an exhibition with a work that he originally created for a museum in Barcelona in 2012, but which has since travelled to the likes of Hamburg, Rio de Janeiro and Paris. He now brings it to 72-13 in Singapore, working with 12 local dancers, and it promises to be a unique "performed exhibition" experience. "It proposes a different relationship to time and space, theatre and exhibition," says the choreographer.

It all started when he was invited by the artistic director of the Antoni Tapiès Foundation in Barcelona to make an exhibition with people, not 2D or 3D works. "And the brief is that viewers can walk in anytime, like they would to a gallery, during opening hours."
