IT'S not everyday that a major makeover comes with a twin but this is what has happened to the Renault Kangoo. The Kangoo was one of the most popular names in light commercial vehicles when the diminutive first-generation model was launched in 1999. The larger second-generation Kangoo has since been given an extensive refresh and is now not only available in two lengths, and can also be purchased as the Mercedes-Benz Citan.

This is because Renault assembles the Citan for Merc but there are some differences. Perhaps the most important is that the Kangoo costs less than the Citan, by as much as a five-figure sum.

Visually, the Kangoo is also different. It shows off Renault's latest design language, with its front end getting new almond-shaped headlamps and a bigger and bolder chrome logo set into a flowing black grille for contrast.
