Devialet's Phantom Menace
The Devialet Phantom Reactor is a more compact version of the French firm's speakers. But can it give the competition the shakes?
WITH futuristic, HR Giger-esque designs, Devialet's speakers look more like science fiction props than real-life tech. The French speaker maker is known for its massive and outre products, but for their latest speaker, Devialet appears to have gone the sensible route and designed something which doesn't need the space of a dining table.
The Phantom Reactor - which again, sounds more like the name of a spaceship than an Earth-bound contraption - is a smaller version of its Brobdingnagian siblings, being four times smaller.
Shrunk but not shorn, it retains typical Devialet features such as bulbous side radiators, floral-patterned front tweeter and immensely sturdy case.
