It's a statement, it's art, it's ... a pineapple

Two students who left the fruit at exhibition as a joke were stunned to find it later elevated to a work of art.

The pineapple that students Lloyd Jack and Ruairi Gray left on an empty table at an art show in Scotland - tilted slightly for added gravitas and flair - was later found encased in glass, instantly and mysteriously transforming into a work of art. Some viewers read political meaning in the prank, while others - including the show's organisers - were not amused.
