Creating likenesses out of steel mesh
FORMER prime minister Lee Kuan Yew's likeness is a highlight of this year's Art Stage Singapore, having inspired the works of at least one Korean and two Chinese artists.
For acclaimed Korean artist Park Seung Mo, picking Mr Lee as subject was a significant decision, given that this is the first time he is exhibiting his works at the event.
Park, who creates portraits using layers of fine stainless steel mesh, set out five years ago to produce 99 such works this way.
