I WENT to Romania with only one mission: to visit Transylvania and come home without unexplained puncture wounds in my neck, or anywhere else on my succulent body. I have a wife who notices things.
There was also the matter of driving BMW's latest cars halfway up the country to cross the Carpathian mountains and wander Wallachia, the region once ruled by Vlad the Impaler. You might also know him as Dracula, the fearsome prince as famed for his cruelty as for his gnarly moustache.
