What's Up This Week
ONLINE ARTHOUSE CINEMA
Cinemas will open from Jul 13 but if you're still wary about being with strangers, the good news is that you can watch new movies at home thanks to a collaboration between the Singapore Film Society and Shaw Organisation's virtual cinema platform. Three films have been lined up so far and each will be available for 14 days after rental, and for 48 hours after pressing 'Play'. Kicking off last Friday was Carlo Mirabella-Davis' Swallow, a surreal thriller about a pregnant housewife who develops a dangerous habit of swallowing objects. The Painter and the Thief premieres today, the highly-acclaimed documentary about a Czech painter who meets the Norwegian ex-con who stole her paintings. On Jul 17 it's Spaceship Earth, a documentary about eight people who spent two years quarantined inside a biosphere that replicates the earth's ecosystem. ~ Dylan Tan
Rental costs S$12.99. Check https://kinolounge.shaw.sg/
