Laneway band back for own show
ELECTRONIC band Chvrches feels that songwriting is easier than deciding a name for their band.
But the Scottish act eventually settled for Chvrches (pronounced "Churches") because they liked how universal and grand the word sounded. They then put a different spin to the usual spelling of the word, said guitarist-bassist Iain Cook.
He, along with band members - lead vocalist Lauren Mayberry and keyboardist Martin Doherty - were in Singapore earlier this year for the St Jerome's Laneway line-up, and will be back next Friday to headline their own show, part of the world-tour supporting their debut studio album, The Bones Of What You Believe.
