IT'S odd that an art festival that's all about light would be worried about saving electricity, but sustainability is one of the themes of next month's i Light Marina Bay 2014 next month.
The three-week long night festival, organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), will see over 25 colourful art installations from 11 countries decorating the Marina Bay waterfront area. In line with the theme Light+HeART, the artworks were chosen for their use of recycled or biodegradable materials, and carry a message of sustainability. The festival itself is powered by the energy savings from URA's "Switch Off, Turn Up" campaign, which encourages companies around the Marina Bay area to switch off unnecessary lights and raise the temperatures of their air-conditioners.
