Smart watches may represent the future, but for many luxury makers of mechanical timepieces, the best way forward is - backwards. Into their history, that is, as they look to their archives for inspiration to create their collections for this month's Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH).
That seems to be the direction, going by the pre-SIHH timepieces unveiled over the last few weeks.
