UNLESS Donald J Trump makes the most stunning political comeback in the history of American presidential campaigns, pundits at home and abroad will be spending the next two months or so speculating about the policy direction of President Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In general, one would play it safe if he or she predicts that the next left-of-centre liberal Democratic occupant of the White House would more or less follow in the footsteps of the left-of-centre liberal Democrat who now resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. Clintonism II would probably resemble Obamism, which has marked a serious shift from Reaganism to the political left, than Clintonism I, which was basically an attempt to reform Reaganism (in the same way that Blairism was an effort to modify Thatcherism).
