THIS WEEK'S TOPIC: What role should unions play in today's work environment?
Victor Mills Chief Executive Singapore International Chamber of Commerce
UNIONS should continue to play a constructive role in industrial relations. They help keep businesses honest when they engage in a collaborative and non-confrontational way. Singapore's tripartite model continues to serve the economy and businesses well. It is the envy of many countries where relations between employers and employees are confrontational and often toxic. This win-win approach benefits everyone and encourages effective teamwork.
