Journey Back In Time
Hermès' latest exhibition celebrates the romance of travel through the years.
WANDERLUST HAS ALWAYS been one of Man's greatest passions, fuelling the centuries' long desire to go somewhere, be it by the horse-drawn carriage of yesterday, or the cocooned cabin of one's very own suite on a long-range aircraft.
Historic luxury house Hermès has long been associated with the romance of travel since it began life in the 19th century as a leather saddle and harness maker, evolving over the years to create objects and designs specifically to make one's journey comfortable and beautiful.
Hermès' long heritage and contribution to the history of movement are captured in the brand's latest exhibition in Singapore titled In Motion, that will arrive in its Liat Towers store on May 11. It's the third of its Hermès Heritage In Motion Exhibition following Harnessing the Roots - which focused on its equestrian fundamentals - and Rouge Hermès, which delved into the house's signature palette of some 20 shades of red.
