A chain is only as strong as its weakest link - hence the importance of team bonding efforts. But with WFH arrangements set to continue indefinitely, how can a team continue to bond and create trust with each other?
In this fourth episode of BT's Covid-19 Executive Mental Health video series, Singapore-based psychologist and corporate trainer Maria Micha offers tips on staying in touch and showing concern for one another.
She reminds us that we all have a basic need to be "seen" and acknowledged by others. Thus, in these isolating times, it's more crucial than ever for managers to reach out to their team members occasionally to ask how they're doing, and what they might need to perform at their best.
She also suggests having team video-conferencing calls, not so much to talk about work, but to play fun games with each other and reflect honestly on life in semi-lockdown. In these dark times, nothing beats a heart-to-heart chat with people who matter to you.
