Dynamic Duo
Elmgreen and Dragset are the famous provocateur duo behind some of the most talked-about artworks in the world. These include a replica Prada shop (pictured) in the middle of an empty desert in Texas, a comment on the reach of consumerism, and the bronze sculpture of a boy astride a rocking horse in Trafalgar Square, a critique of war monuments.
In conjunction with National Gallery Singapore's new major exhibition on minimalist art, the pair are in Singapore to give a talk on their practice. The exhibition on minimalism features works by several other important artists such as Anish Kapoor, Lee Ufan, Mark Rothko, Donald Judd and Tang Da Wu and runs from now till April 14, 2019.
Elmgreen and Dragset's talk is on Nov 16 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at National Gallery Singapore's Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium. Free tickets available from Eventbrite.
