City Planning
Here's a chance to make your mark in Singapore, literally. The Urban Redevelopment Authority and Singapore Land Authority are looking for ideas on how to transform the Power District in Pasir Panjang into a waterfront lifestyle destination that reflects its unique industrial heritage. So they've launched Power Up Pasir Panjang - a competition with cash prizes and a chance for winners to see their ideas come to life.
The Power District houses the Pasir Panjang Terminal and nearby power generation facilities. Now idle, it was built over the 1950s and 1960s to supply Singapore's burgeoning power needs then, and its buildings represent Singapore's early industrial history and architecture of the time. The winning ideas will no doubt help kick-start the rejuvenation of the Greater Southern Waterfront.
Submit ideas for Power Up Pasir Panjang at ura.sg/powerdistrict. Entries close on June 25.
