Vive La Vitra
Project Vitra showcases the story of the Swiss furniture brand over the decades
To design fans, Vitra is synonymous with well-designed furniture. But Nora Fehlbaum, its CEO and the granddaughter of founders Erika and Willi Fehlbaum, is well aware that everyday folks may not know the Swiss brand.
She hopes to change that for Singaporeans with the travelling exhibition Project Vitra - Design, Architecture, Communications (1950-2007), which tells the story of her family business. The exhibition is split into six categories including the display of classic furniture pieces as well as modern designs. Ms Fehlbaum says that the appeal of Vitra's furniture is how the same piece of furniture can fit into different settings - from the home, to the office, to retail and public spaces.
Here are six well-known Vitra pieces to look out for.
